Quick Step Quilt - Brick Path Style

Session

Price: $36.00
This is a really fun technique to make a quilt quickly.  You'll be putting the front, batting, and backing all together at once - and the back is almost as interesting as the front!  Then there is no further quilting needed after it's pieced.  This would make a wonderful quick gift for that special someone in your life. Let Kristal show you how easy it is to do this great technique!
Taught by Kristal Evens.

Supply List:

Quick Step Quilt pattern from Cotton Dreams
Ruler - preferably 6” x 24”
Rotary cutter with a new blade (cutting batting will dull your blade so you’ll want a fresh blade afterwards)
Pins or clips - the binding clips work the best.  You will need one pack of clips or a box of sharp sturdy pins.
Large cutting mat
Sewing machine
Thread: I used Aurifil for the whole quilt that matched my fabric
Walking foot and regular piecing foot
Fabric requirements based on a lap-sized quilt (like the sample):
- 5 fabrics for the main body of the quilt front and back - try to have a variety from light to dark if possible - 1 yard each
- Front border - 1 1/4 yard
- Back border - 1 1/2 yard  (borders could be the same fabrics - get 2 3/4 yards)
- Batting - I used Quilters Dream Select cotton off the bolt.  2 1/2 yards.
-Binding: In the sample I pieced together fabric left from above.  If you prefer not to piece the binding purchase 3/4 yard.

Basic supplies - small pair of scissors, seam ripper, glasses if you need them, etc.

Prior to the first class please cut the 5 main fabrics into strips (selvage to selvage so that they’re approximately 40” long).  From each fabric cut two strips 6” wide and 3 strips 4” wide.
